Good morning, folks! How is everyone?

I'm currently munching on cinnamon rolls and drinking coffee, and looking around the room with some degree of satisfaction. I'm not completely done re-organizing, but the big stuff is done. It looks like a living space now. I have So. Much. Stuff!!! Far too much. Mostly art-related things, old sketchbooks and art projects from college, and childhood. I don't want to throw those things away, though-- they're memories. I'll just have to find a place to stack them out of the way.

I cleared my old (defunct) desktop computer off my other drafting table in here, and I've been getting the painting urge. I might utilize it and start a side project later today, after I've done a small commission. Every now and again, I like to work with traditional media, just because it's so much more tactile. Also, I was thinking of playing with various techniques for my graphic novel project. I've come to the conclusion that, rather than doing a book full of scripted sequential art, I'll utilize the story in its original form (edited, of course), and do page-by-page illustrations.

***In that vein, I thought I'd drop word-- an invitation to beta for The Glass Veil. In return, I'll give you a colorized concept of a character (any character).***

I bought and downloaded a few audio books to listen to while I work, because sometimes listening to the same music time and again gets old. That, and oddly, having my attention split like that actually *helps*, rather than hinders, my focus. It has something to do with the way my mind functions... layered consciousness or something. I'm very non-linear, and tend to have multiple streams of thought competing for dominance at any given time.

Well, I'm going to draw today's blog to a close for now. Hope everyone's day is wonderful!

Hm. I've just discovered [livejournal.com profile] ellenmillion's Portrait Adoption Project.

This is an absolutely wonderful idea. I'm signing up as soon as I can get to the store and purchase some good-quality print paper for adoption certificates!
