It's been a very productive week, with three character portraits completed, fourteen sketches for Free Sketch Day, and two crowdfunding projects and a prize drawing illustration started.

Character Portraits:

From left to right (from the last two weeks):  [livejournal.com profile] timelord1's Rowenne Kennock and Jaerus, [livejournal.com profile] ellenmillion's Torn World character Ivarra, [livejournal.com profile] timelord1's creature the Uilebheist, and [livejournal.com profile] just_the_ash's character Angamarth.

Prize Drawing Illustration:

I completed the line art for [livejournal.com profile] minor_architect's prize drawing illustration.  I'm calling this one Firespirit. (Note: nudity, so full size sketch is not work safe!)

Crowdfunded pieces:

Blocked in the flat colors over the sketch for the waterfall painting, as yet untitled.

And completed the line art for Trickster.

Remember, the waterfall painting and "Trickster" are open for crowdfunding!  Contribute to whichever one you like by clicking the "Tip Jar" icon.  Be sure to specify what you want tips to go toward, and let me know what your LJ ID is so I can keep track of everyone and send out perks when they're ready.

[livejournal.com profile] minor_architect won the Prize Drawing yesterday!  This person will receive a digitally inked and colorized image based on the below image (click to enlarge):

As no one voted for the next crowdfunding pieces, I will begin work on these three:

The first one (the landscape) will be digitally painted, and the other two will be digitally inked and colorized.

It's time for the January FSD Prize Drawing to win a digitally inked and colorized illustration based on one of the FSD sketches listed in the below links.

Follow the links, choose one sketch that you would like to see completed, and then come back and comment on *this* entry with your choice. I will then write down all the applicants, place the names in a cup, and draw one name at random to be the winner. The winner will receive a link to the full sized image when it is completed.

January 4
January 17
January 31

Have at it! Good luck, everyone! Winner will be announced tomorrow at 10 a.m.

Congratulations to [livejournal.com profile] timelord1, who won the prize drawing!

You'll receive a high resolution, digitally inked and colorized version of your prompt, "TARDIS," in about a week's time, give or take.

Hope you enjoy!

Yesterday's Prize Drawing is now closed and comments will be taken to screened.  Thank you for participating!

Good afternoon, friends!

So, here we are nearing the end of December, as well as 2011. This month has been a rocky one for my family and me, but we've all gotten through it more or less intact. I didn't hold as many Free Sketch Days as I'd hoped, but when I was able to, I was very excited about the turnout and the wonderful prompts given.

And today, being near the end of the month, it's time to hold my monthly prize drawing! The prize is a free digitally inked and colored image of your choice, from this month's Free Sketch Day posts (which I'll link to here). Anyone is eligible to apply-- just leave a comment here and state which sketch you would like to see completed. Tomorrow morning, I will write down all the names on scraps of paper, put them in a bowl, shake them up a bit, and draw one name at random. The winner will be announced in the morning, and I will create and email him/her a full-color, full sized, high resolution piece of art based on the sketch of their choice from this week's FSD. (Please allow at least a week for completion of the image; I'm a very busy gal!)

Here are the sketch compilation posts for this month for the FSDs held since the last prize drawing:

12/13-- http://shadows-gallery.livejournal.com/23007.html

11/29-- http://shadows-gallery.livejournal.com/21261.html

Choose any one sketch from these links and comment on this entry to apply for the prize drawing.

As always, I take private commissions for finished pieces. Also, any tips accrued on this page at any time will (unless otherwise specified by the tipper) go towards funding finished artwork that will be voted on by all of you when the cost of completed work is reached. There is currently $3 in the Tip Jar, so another $17 will fund a completed, detailed black and white drawing; an additional $37 will fund a digitally inked and colorized illustration; and an additional $97 will cover a simple digital painting.

I hope everyone is having an enjoyable holiday season!  Until later,

Amyla

The artwork for [livejournal.com profile] nekomata, who won the drawing for a finished piece from last week's FSD, is complete.  Posting a sized-down, watermarked image here.

It is also for sale as a print on ImageKind, starting at $9.49, and will be available on Zazzle on a variety of merchandise (such as mouse pads, coffee mugs, tee shirts, and the like) as soon as the administrators approve it.

Don't forget to drop by this Live Journal tomorrow for this week's Free Sketch Day and leave your one word prompt!

Click thumbnail to enlarge.  :)

As always, tips are welcome.  Contributors will receive a free high res file of the full sized image either in a link or an email, depending on preference.

Yesterday, I held a prize drawing for a free digitally inked and colorized piece of art based on one of the FSD prompts from earlier this week.  For the winner, I would create a free high-resolution image based on the prompt sketch they asked for.

And the winner is:

[livejournal.com profile] nekomata, who asked for "Transcend."

Congratulations!  Your artwork will be completed and a link to the high-res file sent to you in a PM in the next week or so. :)

Good afternoon, friends!

I have a treat for you all today.

After some further thought, I'm going to be instigating Free Sketch Day as a weekly event, held every Tuesday.  So, do be sure to drop by here this coming Tuesday, and bring along your one word prompts!

Each sketch that is created in these events will be available for crowdfunding, if anyone wants to see a finished piece.  (For pricing info, see this post.)

FSD (Free Sketch Day) will ALWAYS be free of the obligation to pay; however, starting on this coming Tuesday, I am going to add a Tip Jar to the bottom of each weekly post.  The funds accrued from these tips will go to funding a finished piece, either a refined drawing, an ink-and-color drawing, or a digital painting depending on how much has been put in the Jar.  If funding is successful, the prompt that will be used will be decided by you in a vote!

And now for the treat:
Today, I am going to hold a drawing for a free digitally inked and colored image of your choice, from this week's Free Sketch Day.  Anyone is eligible to apply-- just leave a comment here and state which sketch you would like to see completed.  At the end of the day (8 p.m. CST), I will write down all the names on scraps of paper, put them in a bowl, shake them up a bit, and draw one name at random.  The winner will be announced in the morning, and I will create and email him/her a full-color, full sized, high resolution piece of art based on the sketch of their choice from this week's FSD.  (Please allow at least a week for completion of the image; I'm a very busy gal!)

So, go take a look at the Prompt Sketches from this week's FSD, choose one, and comment here with your choice!
