This is a sketch I did several years ago with the intent to turn it into a painting.
Starting with the background; still very loose and sketchy, just blocking in the basic colors at this point. I'm going with a cooler palette than I used in my last painting. I'm going to call this one "Ocean Lord."
Will post updates as the painting progresses!

Crowdfunding Pieces Update
Mar. 7th, 2012 09:48 pmSo, over the past two days, I've done some work on the three crowdfunding pieces I have currently in production, as well as the Prize Drawing piece.
As I mentioned previously, I've finished "Starcrossed."
I did the flat colors for "Trickster."
I worked on the background cliffs in the waterfall painting.
And, I did the inks on "Firespirit." This is being done for the winner of the last prize drawing, and will be available to the general public.
All three of these crowdfunded pieces are still open for funding! U.S. Contributors who contribute $3 or more will receive a complimentary print of the image they helped to fund from Zazzle, and all contributors will receive a full-sized image download. (Size of print depends on amount of contribution; sizes start at 4x6.) Once a piece is fully funded, the full sized image will be released to the public.

Character Portraits:
From left to right (from the last two weeks):timelord1's Rowenne Kennock and Jaerus, ellenmillion's Torn World character Ivarra, timelord1's creature the Uilebheist, and just_the_ash's character Angamarth.
Prize Drawing Illustration:
I completed the line art forminor_architect's prize drawing illustration. I'm calling this one Firespirit. (Note: nudity, so full size sketch is not work safe!)

Free Sketch Day December Prize Drawing

Good afternoon, friends!
So, here we are nearing the end of December, as well as 2011. This month has been a rocky one for my family and me, but we've all gotten through it more or less intact. I didn't hold as many Free Sketch Days as I'd hoped, but when I was able to, I was very excited about the turnout and the wonderful prompts given.
And today, being near the end of the month, it's time to hold my monthly prize drawing! The prize is a free digitally inked and colored image of your choice, from this month's Free Sketch Day posts (which I'll link to here). Anyone is eligible to apply-- just leave a comment here and state which sketch you would like to see completed. Tomorrow morning, I will write down all the names on scraps of paper, put them in a bowl, shake them up a bit, and draw one name at random. The winner will be announced in the morning, and I will create and email him/her a full-color, full sized, high resolution piece of art based on the sketch of their choice from this week's FSD. (Please allow at least a week for completion of the image; I'm a very busy gal!)

Here's a preview of it-- it'll be done in the next few days, hopefully. If I have time today, I'll be working on the rocks. This is being digitally painted in Gimp. It's not my usual subject matter, but I'm having fun with it!

Nov. 5th, 2011 04:51 pmAt long last! After much frustration and some despondency, the result of a corrupted file, Sylph has been re-painted. It is now complete.
I am currently uploading the image to Zazzle, where it will be available on a variety of merchandise including prints, coffee mugs, mouse pads, clothing, and more. Links will be posted when available.
