Aeternal Eckhoes
Aug. 21st, 2011 01:28 pmOkay, so it's been awhile since I've posted here. But I've been busy working on exciting new projects (why, oh why do I keep adding more to my plate? I'm addicted to starting new things).
Aeternal Eckhoes is an experiment in first-person, multi-tiered, character-based storytelling that carries a narrative from the perspectives of each character. Each character will have his or her own journal, and all entries will be consolidated into a community.
Eckho, the title character, and the blog with the most story, can be found at
justaneckho
Other characters so far include:
shadesofsamhain and
callmeser though the latter has yet to be updated and the former has only a couple of short and sweet (read: mysterious) entries. Characters will communicate with one another in their blogs as well-- the hope is to create a suspension of reality within their world, so that a reader can watch character interaction and perhaps interact with characters themselves.
The community is
aeternal_eckho and will be fully set up shortly. Membership will be restricted to the characters, but feel free to watch the community and post comments to the characters!
There will be more narrative and artwork to come on all journals, very soon!
And now, an excerpt, and an art sample:
I'm here. I'm not sure where here is.
My world tore itself apart, along with my mind. Something I can't quite grasp... I don't
know what happened. I'm... I think I'm broken. Splintered memory
slices my mind like so much shattered glass. Images, snatches of
conversation, and fire... so much fire.
Why is there fire?
I move like a wraith. I think sometimes I'm a ghost-- time and space
slip around me, washing over me like water. I'm dizzy. I am walking
somewhere. A forest-- no, a city. No, an old castle with winding
corridors formed of chilled stone.
I close my eyes. I focus.
Try to hold my form, my position. I open my eyes. I'm standing in a
street. Nearby, a huge fountain bubbles and gushes. People waft by me
as though they do not see me. Perhaps they don't.
Can you hear me?
