Morning-ish Ramblings
Jun. 13th, 2011 11:26 amAh, Monday again. Where's the time go?
Today I'll be working on "The Sylph" some more. I did a little bit on Saturday (or was it Friday?) but not enough to do a process post. Hopefully I'll have another step-by-step post to share by tonight or tomorrow.
I ran out of time on Pandora Radio the other day. Sheeze, I didn't know I'd been listening to it THAT much-- it's not even the middle of the month! I guess I'll have to stick to my own music folders for now.
Met up with my dad to go see Super 8 on Saturday. It was a fun, enjoyable movie with some decent character arcs. Of course, I was reminded once again how very different my family is from me when we had a little good-natured discussion about how he prefers it when they shoot the aliens in the movies. Really. Heaven help any non-human sapient life forms who may decide to make contact. Without going too far into spoiler territory, he was talking about how the alien was so evil because it was killing people, ( Er, this might be a bit spoilery for the movie, just in case anyone cares. )
Actually, that reminds me of another conversation he and I had a few weeks back, about Road Runner and Coyote, of all things. (lol) Somehow he managed to turn it into a biblical object lesson (of course) about how the designs of an "evil man" were doomed to fail. I grinned at him and said, "Well... I don't know that Wile. E. Coyote is EVIL, so much as HUNGRY." Dad said, "If he's hungry, he could go get himself a nice ribeye steak at a restaurant." I said, "Um... so Coyote's evil for hunting a road runner, but the butcher's not evil for slaughtering a cow?" "Yep, exactly," he said. Uh, Dad... you makee no sensee.
My family perplexes me. lol.
All right, enough rambling. Time to do painterly stuff.
