Well, as usual, I didn't get much done on the weekend.  They always seem to be designated "running around all of creation" days.  I did a little dubious writing late last night, just to give myself something creative to do.  Today, though, I'll start on the Sylph painting, and hopefully have the first in my Digital Painting Process posts to share tonight or tomorrow.

In other news, It. Is. Hot. As. Hades.  I'm ready for winter again.  No, seriously.  I know I was shivering in my snuggie this last winter (don't judge.  I was cold.  And it was... well... snuggie.), but I prefer it to this.  And it's not even official summer yet!  I swear, I'm gonna melt before the season even begins.

I'm still trying to wake up.  Urgh.  This may be a two-cup-of-coffee kind of morning.  It doesn't help that I woke up to a very, very vivid image of a huge cup of restaurant-style cafe mocha, complete with a little design etched into the foam.  My subconscious is so cruel.  The best I can do here is maybe to put a packet of hot cocoa mix in my coffee.

So, share with me, friends list!  I'm curious about your likes and interests.  What sorts of stories do you like-- sci fi?  Fantasy?  Romance?  Horror?  Some combination? What movies and tv and music do you like?  Books?  Art?  What do you do for fun?  What moves you?

I like historical fiction, fantasy and horror. Bonus for combining all three.

I love a good genre-bending story. Any favorite authors along these lines?

Tim Powers and GRRM spring instantly to mind. I used to love Charles de Lint, but his Newford story lines just depressed me too much to continue reading them. But I'm still partial to his Ottawa/Tamson House and the medieval-esque OtherWorld stuff. I like Tom Dietz' faeries-in-GA-Appalachia stories, too.

That's all that's coming out of the top of my head at the moment. I'm sure a dozen will spring to mind after I hit the Post Comment button. It always works that way for me. ^___^
